This course focuses on the Earth’s composition, structure, and systems. We will investigate the processes at work within the Earth as well as surface processes that shape the Earth’s surface. We will examine how geologic phenomena are linked together through dynamic systems and how they impact our environment, society and economy.
This course will examine the processes that cause natural disasters like earthquakes, volcanoes, mass wasting, subsidence, flooding, severe weather, erosion, climate change and bolide impacts - without engaging in schadenfreude.
